What is Stage Agency?

Stage Agency is our in house agency which represents Stage Academy students in the world of professional film, tv and theatre.

The role of the agency is to suggest students for professional auditions, support students in those auditions and look after students if and when they are able to secure professional work.

It is important to note that being represented by Stage Agency doesn’t guarantee auditions or professional work within the performing arts industry. However, it does open the door to the industry, giving them the best chance at success and it equips students with valuable life skills such as confidence, organisation, presentation and responsibility which are infinitely transferable into later life.

Are there any costs involved?

There is no charge to be on the books of Stage Agency, however, there are some costs associated with being considered for professional work and these are standard for all performers. These are;

  • A young performers “Spotlight” membership. Spotlight is the industry standard platform used by agents and casting directors to submit clients for auditions and a membership is essential to be considered for professional work. This costs £121.20 per year, paid directly to Spotlight.
  • Professional headshots. Agents and casting directors need performers to have professional headshots (pictures of the performer) in order to consider them for professional work. These need to be kept fresh and up to date. We can provide a list of photographers who’s work fits the criteria needed, it will be your responsibility to book and pay for the headshots to be taken and we won’t be able to represent your child without them.
  • Finally, should your child be fortunate enough to secure a professional job, Stage Agency takes an industry standard commission. This commission covers the cost of your child being represented by a professional talent manager and is taken from the fee paid to your Young Performer for completing their professional job.

What are the benefits of Stage Agency?

The obvious benefit of being represented by Stage Agency is that your child can be submitted for professional auditions, which means they might be seen by big casting directors and could even get to experience a professional film set or show from a performers point of view. There are however many other benefits like;

  • Teaching your child the importance of professionalism, preparation and timekeeping
  • Building confidence performing and presenting in front of new people
  • A chance to put the skills they have learned at Stage Academy into practice

What else do I need to know?

The next step is to express your child’s interest in auditioning by completing the form below. In the meantime though here are some important things to consider;

  • Stage Agency is exclusively for Stage Academy students, if your child leaves Stage Academy, we won’t be able to continue to represent them.
  • Being represented by the agency doesn’t guarantee work or auditions, but it does mean that we will work hard to provide opportunities for your child – the performing arts industry is tough and students should be prepared for rejection, we will only agree to represent students if we all decide that they will view every experience as a chance to learn
  • Some students and parents will decide its not right for them, and that is fine, everyone attends Stage Academy for different reasons and the main reason is always to have FUN!
  • Every student needs to audition for representation – we will only represent children on the agency who are ready for the demands of the professional industry.
